The company was founded by two brothers: Franek and Leszek SROKOSZ. The name SROKOSZ came about several hundred years ago; named after a bird in Poland also known as the "Butcher Bird". And they didn't give us that name because we could fly! Na zdrowie!!
Pol-kabobs are known by many other names, depending on which part of the country you live. Some call them "city chicken" (even though it's not chicken). Some call them "meat-on-a-stick," while others just call them plain "meat sticks." In Polish they're called "patyczki". Originally popular amongst central-eastern Europeans, now quickly becoming a favourite with all people.
We use the same recipe that our grandmother brought along with her from Poland. We start with fresh pork sirloin roast. We then tenderize and marinate it (in a secret spice combo). It is then lightly coated with our special breading. We then cook it under pressure and quickly freeze it to preserve the freshness. JUST HEAT AND EAT!
Currently we can only supply Southwestern Ontario. We are a small family business. In one of the stores that we supply, it has shown that our product has drawn customers from other retailers.
Pol-kabob is a registered trademark! Remember, if it doesn't say "Pol-kabobs" it's just dead pig on a twig!
